Partner Visa
The Partner Visa Stream permits an applicant to get sponsored by their spouse or de facto partner, to stay in Australia as per the criterions met. This visa gives legal rights to the partner to be able to come and stay with their married counterparts for a period of up to 2 years and later apply for a permanent residency, too.

The Subclass 820 visa is a partner visa that permits individual’s to live in Australia for a limited period of time. The Subclass 820 visa is the first step towards the path of obtaining a permanent Partner Visa (Subclass 801). Application for both the visa grants can be done simultaneously while paying a single application fees charge. However, the applications are reviewed in two phases, within a two years tenure.
Partner Temporary Visa (Subclass 309) and Permanent Visa (Subclass 100)
Both work for individuals who are outside Australia:
One can apply for an Offshore Partner Visa (Subclass 309) if one stays outside Australia, currently but wishes to join their Australian resident spouse or partner in the country. The Subclass 309 Visa is the first amongst the two-step process for gaining Australian permanent residency. Post two years gaining the previous visa, one can apply and be granted a permanent visa(Subclass 100).
